Hi, I’m Rebecca.
I understand the feeling of loneliness, when no one seems to really “GET” you as a person or what you’re going through. Not to be cliché, but you are worth “GETTING.” I empower my clients because sometimes it feels like so many things happen TO us that we don’t realize the choices we DO have. You’ll learn things that can help you both now and in the future so when other situations arise, you’ll be better equipped. That’s my goal—to work myself out of a job with each client. One of the most fulfilling things about my job is seeing clients gain hope in seemingly hopeless situations and gain healing from their debilitating emotional pain.
FUN FACTS
How do you find yourself meeting your goals? Mine is sometimes to put myself in situations and find out what I learn about myself.
Generally, I’m a rule follower, but I do appreciate calculated risks…sometimes. I’ve chosen to go hot air ballooning (is that a word?), ziplining, skydiving, rappelling, parasailing, canyoning, shark cage diving, surfing, scuba diving, spelunking, rafting, wakeboarding…you get the idea.
I wanted to get more comfortable with public speaking, so I’ve put myself in positions that were somewhat uncomfortable that I could control in order to challenge and grow myself.
I love to dance, or at least try, and laugh WITH myself as I enjoy the process & learn from my mistakes.
I find it calming and inspiring to take photos of the beautiful outdoors (but not a fan of sweating)!
I’d love to hear more about how you want to move toward your goals.
THE EXTRAS: Credentials & Other Specializations
The extra letters after my name (Rebecca D. Hogg, MA, LPC, RPT, EMDR Consultant, CCPS) aren’t meant to be confusing. It means that in order to be a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #74625), I
earned a Master of Arts (MA) from Liberty University,
passed the National Counselor Exam,
completed 3000+ hours while under supervision seeing clients (LPC),
and participated in hundreds of hours of trainings.
I am also a
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Consultant,
and I’m a CCPS (Certified Clinical Partner Specialist) trained by APSATS (The Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists) in working with the trauma and betrayal experienced by family members of addicts or those with problematic behaviors involving sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling, and more.
